Our client, the premier provider of refit and refurbishment services for New Zealand’s local vessels and international super yacht fleets, is on the lookout for skilled, experienced and dedicated boat painters to join their expanding team on a full time, permanent basis.

If you have experience painting boats of different composites (notably wood) and a variety of boat types, this is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of world-class vessels and to learn and contribute in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for preparation and paint application and post paint work:

• Preparing wood, fiberglass and metal surfaces for paint application, including repair of knocks and irregularities
• Adding protection to surrounding surfaces and hardware
• Loading paint, oil, lacquer, varnish and rustproofing agents into spray equipment
• Matching and mixing paint
• Applying paint and varnish using brushes, spray guns and rollers
• Following post paint / cleaning procedures

They offer a competitive salary of up to between $29.66 and $40 depending on experience. They value work life balance: the work is generally 40 hours per week between weekday hours of 7am – 4:00pm so you can avoid traffic. Though you may need to make time for the regular team BBQs.
