Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Design Estimator to join their Electrical Services team in South Auckland.

What You’ll Do

The main objective of the successful candidate is to produce winning estimates for major operations & maintenance projects in the electrical space. These projects will predominantly be within the Distribution and Industrial sectors and will vary in size and scope and range from $5 to $10M in value.

For this role, you will

• work closely with management and operations to create innovative proposals and shape commercial propositions that align with our clients’ business objectives.
• contribute to the development of ‘winning’ pricing strategies in response to proposals and ensure that estimating processes and procedures are kept up to date.
• identify and negotiate with suitable subcontractors and suppliers, and build sustainable working relationships with them.
• have the opportunity to participate in client discussions to clarify aspects of tenders and visit sites if necessary.

What you’ll need

This role will suit you if you have

• come from a technical background and whose estimating will be informed by their hands-on operations experience.
• knowledge or familiarity in NZS 3910:2013
• experience in Electrical projects within the Distribution, Industrial, Communications, Power Generation, or Transmission sectors (preferably).
• 5+ years working within New Zealand and have experience in scoping and developing methodologies (preferably).
• experience using CATS or a similar Estimating software are an advantage.
