Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to work for a prominent infrastructure services company operating in Australia and New Zealand.
The role will oversee and direct assigned construction projects, ensuring that objectives are met within predetermined schedules and budget constraints. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on essential infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support all aspects of the Project/Contract Life Cycle, including initiation, planning, execution, closure, monitoring, and controlling project/contract works.
- Develop Asset Management Plans in collaboration with Key Customers and provide project and maintenance solutions.
- Create cost-effective plans and schedules for project completion, ensuring adherence to budgets and efficient resource utilization.
- Oversee the performance of field staff, contractors, and subcontractors, reviewing scope of works, engineered drawings, and standards to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Provide regular, detailed reporting and metrics on ongoing projects, resource allocation, project status, completion statistics, deviations from the plan, and forecasts for future requirements.
- Monitor and control construction schedules and associated costs to achieve project completion within allocated timeframes and budgets.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- A minimum of five years of experience managing construction projects with increasing complexity or a tertiary qualification or experience in Electrical Engineering and asset management.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and coordinate multiple activities and groups to maximize efficiency.
- Previous experience in Transpower/Vector project management is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.Familiarity with Project/Asset Management Systems.
About You:
- As a highly motivated individual, you possess:
- a professional qualification in engineering and/or project management with a minimum of five years of demonstrable experience in managing construction projects; or,
- you hold a qualification and/or experience in electrical engineering and asset management.
- You thrive in high-pressure environments and excel at working in fast-paced settings with multiple stakeholders and conflicting deadlines.
- Your project management or supervisory experience, especially with key stakeholders like Water Care, Transpower/Vector, will be highly regarded.
- You have excellent organisational and time management skills and are committed to continuous improvement.
- Your sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations ensures safe project execution. Your dedication to exceeding customer expectations will be a key driver of your success in this role.
