Power Systems Technician (4 Positions Available)

Responsibilities:

• Bring a minimum of two years’ experience in the power systems sector.
• Analyze and repair network protection and control systems.
• Respond to and repair network faults by participating in a 24-hour callout roster.
• Maintain and operate the HV Test Bay, including statutory six-monthly testing of assets and equipment.
• Develop and maintain test procedures for new and existing field devices.
• Undertake control panel construction, wiring, and commission.
• Assist in maintaining the data credibility of the network.
• Contribute to the overall performance and development of the unit.
• Acceptance testing and commissioning of substation, ground mount, and pole top devices.
• Possess or be eligible to obtain registration as a New Zealand Electrician.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and maintain a positive professional demeanor, working diligently and proactively as an integral team member.

Skills and Experience:

• Registered Electrician/Power Technician with a Technical Certificate/NZCE or equivalent.
• Experience in testing and commissioning substations, overhead, and underground field devices.
• Electrical industry knowledge.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Experience in protection relays and control systems.
• Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to workplace safety.
