Maintenance Fitter for Auckland
Our Client builds and maintains infrastructure that improves the quality of life across New Zealand.
Everything from roads and bridges, to large scale construction solutions for piling retaining wall and ground stabilisation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a self-motivated and reliable Fitter to join there Mechanical & Electrical team.
In this role you will see yourself working on large civil/mechanical installation projects. You will be responsible for site installation and maintenance work, fitting and assembling components and general installation of equipment and valves. In addition to this, you will have a good understanding of health & safety and quality assurance and comply with company H&S policies.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This role is based in West Auckland.
What you’ll bring to the table
Your key skills and attributes will include:
- A tertiary qualification in engineering OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related Fitter role in the water, oil & gas, petrochemical industry, offshore or construction industry.
- Trade experience in pipefitting/welding, as well as site installation and maintenance experience.
- Experience in large plant or equipment installation.
- Overall knowledge of process, mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Experienced in Mild Steel/Stainless fabrication techniques, welding codes and standards.
- Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
