As a Control Systems Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Engineering team with electrical technical investigations.
- Developing electrical, automation, and control systems software and hardware.
- Serving as one of the automation and control system technical experts.
Key Focus Areas:
Your main areas of focus will involve:
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing the performance of all electrical, automation, and control systems software and hardware within the plant.
- Implementing support systems to minimize potential impacts on business operations due to equipment failure or sub-optimal operation.
- Assisting maintenance and operations staff with process troubleshooting and systems training.
- Developing and recommending continuous process improvements to site control and information systems to enhance operational performance.
Role Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Relevant qualifications in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field, and ideally experience as an Electrician.
- Proven experience in heavy industrial control systems development and familiarity with various business and process control software and hardware.
- Strong technical and analytical skills to demonstrate your control systems design capability.
- Knowledge of the wood, pulp, and paper products processing industry and project management experience is advantageous.
- Commitment to demonstrating health, safety, and environmental leadership.
- A determined and reliable team player mindset.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and issues in simple, clear language.
- Flexibility in your approach, responsiveness to new ideas, and a high degree of initiative and self-direction.
