Bringing Family to NZ
Accredited Employer Work Visas allow for visa holders to bring family to visit or live with them in NZ
Immigration NZ have certain criteria that determine for what types of visas family members would be eligible – general visitor visa, partner based visitor visa or partner based work visa.
The determination will depend on the principal’s visa as well as ability to prove genuine and stable relationship and living together. Its definitely a process that should be done with the guidance of a FRENZ Licensed Immigration Adviser who have the experience and processes to call on.
Getting on the Path to Residence
Immigration NZ has introduced new pathways for migrants to become eligible for residence visa applications. This is especially significant given the recent announcement that Accredited Employer Work Visas holders are restricted to a maximum stay of five years in NZ, after which the holder will be forced to leave NZ for one-year.
Eligibility is gained either through:
- Experience: 3 years of commercial experience in a relevant industry (as acceptable by and provable to INZ)
- Qualification: INZ assessed and accepted degree
PLUS
- Having a Green List title, e.g., Herd Manager+, Electrician, for:
- 2+ years in this role which starts counting from October 2021 AND with Job tasks as defined by INZ for that title
Your eligibility to apply for residence depends on your unique circumstances and is determined by INZ’s comprehensive rules and definitions. An assessment is a critical first step toward securing residence. To prevent delays or rejections due to guesswork or misinformation, we recommend a formal assessment with a FRENZ Licensed Immigration Adviser, who will leverage their expertise to guide you effectively:
- review your personal and professional situation in detail to ensure that all options are explored
- give you a clear and accurate understanding your current eligibility
- recommend a pathway for future if you’re not currently eligible
- do a follow up session with you to go through the assessment to discuss your options, answer your questions and address your concerns.
