What You’ll Do as a CABLE JOINTER
In generic terms, you’ll be:
- Installing, replacing, & repairing underground distribution assets
- Jointing & terminating of distribution assets up to 11kV
- Excavating & reinstating at underground cable installation sites
- Undertaking routine inspections, fault finding, and repairing overhead and underground installations
- Participating in network maintenance in an on-call roster
- Identifying & Managing safety hazards
What you’ll need
- Experience in Oil, Gas, and XLPE Cable Jointing
- Proven expertise in jointing cables within the 11kV – 33kV range (Experience with 110kV to 132kV is a plus!)
- Competence in HV and LV cable jointing and terminating
- Hands-on experience in cable jointing work to industry standards
- Thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements
- Valid Class 1 Drivers Licence and experience driving vehicles on all roads, terrain and weather conditions
- Preferably either hold an Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Registration as a Cable Jointer or ready to apply
- Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job and have a strong commitment to health & safety
- Ability to communicate confidently and collaborate well within a team environment

What You’ll Do as a LINE MECHANIC
In generic terms, you’ll be:
- Identifying & preparing electrical systems for work.
- Climbing & working on network structures in line with safety standards.
- Operating plant machinery & equipment in a high-voltage environment.
- Assessing & maintaining electricity supply lines and related components.
- Joining & replacing conductors, poles, and other overhead network structures.
- Installing, replacing, and servicing street lighting, aerial bundled conductors, and underground cables.
- Handling installations, earths and overhead, up to 110kV.
What you’ll need
- Experience (2+ years) as a Line MechanicÂ
- Work with underground and overhead poles with lines up to 33kV
- Valid Class 1 Drivers Licence (or Class 2) and experience driving vehicles on all roads, terrain and weather conditions
- Preferably either hold an Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Registration as a Line Mechanic or ready to apply
- Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job and have a strong commitment to health & safety
- Ability to assist with work plans and ensure that paperwork is completed as and how required.
